The Latvian team LV Racing from the Baltic Touring Car Championship, is heading to TCR Eastern Europe with the second generation of Audi RS3 LMS TCR. Its driver will be Ivars Vallers, the reigning champion of BaTCC.
Ivars, you are heading to TCR Eastern Europe. How excited are you?
I am very excited, and I am looking forward to TCR Eastern Europe. For me, it’s a new challenge, and I’m very happy to be part of TCR Eastern Europe this year!
How are you preparing for the new season and the circuits you don’t know yet?
You can’t win without preparation. I have been spending a lot of time with a racing simulator and practicing on different race tracks to feel the car out even better.
What do you think will be the most challenging aspect of your debut season in TCR EE?
Getting used to the new tracks will be one factor, but the higher-level competition will be the most challenging. However, I thrive on new challenges, so I am not worried.
Is there a circuit you are really looking forward to and why?
Definitely the Red Bull Ring, as it seems the most thrilling, but also the Hungaroring because I have never driven on those tracks and can’t wait to test them out.
You won the BaTCC championship last season. How important is this achievement for you and your career?
Personally, it was a very worthwhile achievement, as it was my first professional sprint at a higher level. With that win, I can move forward to accomplish bigger goals.
Tell us more about your racing career. When did you start racing, and which series have you gone through?
My racing career is not very long, as I only started racing in 2021 with my team, LV Racing, in the BaTCC endurance series. My first victory on the professional stage was last year, which was the Baltic TCR championship. Besides this, I have been racing in the 24H series (full season 2022), and this year, I will continue to achieve my goals in endurance as well!
