Dušan Borkovič won the qualifying at Slovakia Ring. The rookie Sandro Soubek debuted with great second place. TOP 3 was completed by Jáchym Galáš.
The 2020 TCR Eastern Europe season continues with the second round at Slovakia Ring this weekend. And it seems that Dušan Borkovič will be a tough opponent after Friday. The Serbian, who won both races during the opening round of the season at Grobnik Circuit, was fastest also in the Slovakian qualifying and took pole position for Race 1.
Starting list of the round at Slovakia Ring is including also a one fresh face. It is Sandro Soubek, who raced especially with Renault Clio in past. But the Austrian gets used to TCR car very quickly. First of all, the Mair Racing Osttirol driver surprised with the first place in free practice. And his Audi RS3 LMS TCR didn’t lose pace even in qualifying, because his Audi set the second fastest time.
Last year vice-champion Jáchym Galáš will also have a good chance to podium result tomorrow. The GT2 Motorsport driver qualified himself as third.
Dušan Kouřil jr., who celebrated his first victory in TCR Eastern Europe at Slovakia Ring last year, finished fourth. Petr Čížek with the brand-new Cupra León Competición TCR was fifth, Michal Makeš was sixth, Gábor Kismarty-Lechner was seventh, Bence Boldizs was eighth, Szymon Jablonski was ninth and TOP 10 was completed by Jakub Wyszomirski.
Race 1 starts tomorrow at 10.05 CEST and promises a great show.
