Dušan Borković won also the first weekend race at Automotodrom Brno and he secured the championship title. Sandro Soubek finished on the second place and Milovan Vesnić was third.
TCR Eastern Europe has a new champion. It is Dušan Borković. The Serbian driver showed another dominant performance in Race 1 at Automotodrom Brno and took the fifth victory in the fifth race of the 2020 season. After this success, he secured the overall victory already three races before the end of this campaign.
Sandro Soubek finished race on the second place. The Austrian from MAIR Racing Osttirol team started from the third position, but he overtook Milovan Vesnić already in Lap 2 and he didn´t allow anyone to steal his silver after that. Soubek improved his best result in TCR Eastern Europe with that performance. His maximum were two third places before.
Although Vesnić dropped to the third place in Lap 2, he still didn´t have a reason for the sadness at this moment, because this position still gave him the theoretical chance for the championship title. But his hopes disappeared after he was overtaken by Szymon Jablonski. The BM Racing driver kept this position untill the end and he could celebrate his first podium in this series. He also won among juniors.
Vesnić had to settle with the fourth place. Michal Makeš finished fifth. Jáchym Galáš and Carol Wittke had a big battle for the sixth position. And it was Galáš, who was better in this duel. Wittke was seventh at the finish. Petr Čížek crossed the line as the eighth, Jakub Wyszomirski as the ninth and Radim Adámek took one point for the tenth place.
Dušan Kouřil jr. had a bad luck. He drove on the fifth place, but he suffered a tire puncture later and he had to go into the pit. He was able to return to the track, but he finished only on the 15th place. Rudolf Pešović didn´t finish during his comeback to TCR Eastern Europe.
