Michal Makeš won first ever TCR Eastern Europe qualifying in Poznan, Poland. The Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra driver took three extra points to championship and pole position for Race 1 as well. The championship leader Tomáš Pekař set the second fastest time. Szymon Jablonski was third in his first TCR Eastern Europe qualifying after his return to this series.
Michal Makeš will have the best position on starting grid of Race 1 in Poznan on Saturday. The Czech driver from Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team set time 1:37,732 and achieved pole position. In addition, he scored three extra points to championship standings.
We will see two Cupra Leon TCR cars in first row of Race 1. The championship leader Tomáš Pekař finished second behind Michal Makeš. He lost 397 thousandths to his countryman. He scored two points to championship thanks to second fastest time. But his overall lead ahead of Makeš dropped to 16 points. Szymon Jablonski was between three fastest drivers in his first qualifying after return to TCR Eastern Europe. He finished third with time 1:38,208 and was best from local drivers. He also scored one point, obviously the first one in this season.

The third best driver in championship Sebastian Steibel, who races with ESET Race Star support, was 4th in qualifying. Lukasz Stolarczyk took 5th place, Petr Čížek set the sixth fastest time and Tomasz Rzepecki finished 7th. Bartosz Groszek, who races with ESET Race Star support for Horňák-Aditis in Poznan, took 8th position in his debut TCR Eastern Europe qualifying. Carol Wittke was 9th and the first ever TCR Eastern Europe champion Milovan Vesnić finished only 10th.
Except for Szymon Jablonski, we can see another two returnees on the grid this weekend. They are Jakub Wyszomirski and Sebastian Kolakowski from Honda Wyszomirski Racing. Kolakowski was 12th and Wyszomirski was 13th in qualifying.
Race 1 will start at 11.25 on Saturday. On Sunday, we will see Race 2. It will begin at 12.30 and first six to ten drivers will start in reversed order there. Draw decides how many positions will be reversed.
