Szymon Jablonski set the third fastest time in his first qualifying after return to TCR Eastern Europe today. And he believes he can beat Michal Makeš and Tomáš Pekař in Race 1 and take victory.
Szymon Jablonski returns to TCR Eastern Europe this weekend. The fifth best man from 2020 season races again with Hyundai i30 N TCR car of BM Racing Team. And he started the weekend in a good way. He set the third fastest time both in free practice and in qualifying on Friday.
„I´m very happy with result. I did my best time with overtaking, so we have pace for the race. Everything went great. I think it was one of my best qualifying in my TCR career,“ said Jablonski after qualifying.
Only Michal Makeš and Tomáš Pekař were fastest than Jablonski in qualifying. But the Polish driver is confident he can defeat both Makeš and Pekař in Race 1 on Saturday and take his first victory in TCR Eastern Europe. It doesn´t matter what the weather will like.
„I think I have pace to beat them. We can see it will rain (for Race 1 – editorial note). I have very good experience in the rain at this circuit. I think that I have a pace to beat them in dry conditions and I think it´s the same in wet conditions,“ he added.
Jablonski´s best result in TCR Eastern Europe is third place. He achieved this position twice. He finished third in both races at Automotodrom Brno last year.
