Milovan Vesnić achieved pole position for Race 1 at Automotodrom Grobnik. And no surprises, he was very happy after qualifying.
Milovan Vesnić had a little bit of bad luck in the first half of the 2021 TCR Eastern Europe season. But the second half of the season started promisingly for him. The first ever TCR Eastern Europe champion set the fastest time in qualifying and will start from pole position to Race 1. It´s his second pole position in 2021 TCR Eastern Europe season. In addition, he equalized the overall record of TCR Eastern Europe in terms of qualifying victories by this pole position.
„I´m very happy, because my car is finally working. It´s working perfectly. This is the track for Audi thanks to the configuration. There are slowly and long corners there. I´m very happy, because my car is finally working,“ told the qualifying winner.
Except for Vesnić, Carol Wittke and Bartosz Groszek were also amongst the fastest three drivers. It was first qualifying TOP 3 result for Wittke: „I´m very happy with the weekend so far. Free Practice was very good and qualifying was also very good. I had a little issues in my fast lap. But it´s a great result and we will see what Race 1 will bring,“ the German driver said.
Groszek summarized qualifying with these words: „It was all I could achieve. My target for Race 1 is to stay in top three. In the first laps, the brakes and tyres of drivers behind will overheat and the drivers in front will try to made a gap. I would be very happy with position in top three.“
