The fifth destination in the TCR Eastern Europe series in 2022 will be the Slovakia Ring, located forty kilometres east of Bratislava in the Dunajská Streda district. The drivers will race on the local track in 20th-21th August.
Slovakia Ring has been a part of the TCR Eastern Europe since the premiere year of 2019 and since then it has never been missing in the series‘ calendar. The track even hosted two events last year. Summer race weekend is called the Grand Prix of Slovakia and is one of the top motoring events at the Slovak circuit. In the past, for example, the local driver Miro Konopka competed here with the LMP2 prototype from 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Exactly 5922 meters long Slovakia Ring was build between 2008–2009 and the grand opening took place on October 1, 2009. The author of the project is an experienced Austrian architect Hans Roth, who is signed under similar projects in Austria and Hungary. The length of the starting and finishing line is 900 meters and in these places the track reaches a width up to twenty meters.
The international reach of the Slovak Ring is proved by the list of world championships that took place on the circuit. Motor sports fans could visit, for example, WTCC touring car races, FIA GT and ADAC GT Master cars, as well as the European Truck Racing Cup or motorcycle events.
