Bartosz Groszek, Sebastian Steibel, and Petr Semerád are going to start at the Hungaroring under the wings of ESET RaceStar, which is a project that looks for and supports promising drivers in motorsport.
The new TCR Eastern Europe season starts next weekend and the three drivers are going to race in Hungary, thanks to the ESET RaceStar project. “Our goal is to support the competitors in their performance development, but it’s not just about results; it’s important how the drivers perform and work together, and we are trying to help them,” said the championship promoter Josef Křenek, who is also involved in the ESET RaceStar programme.
Sebastian Steibel will drive a Cupra TCR. The driver of the Steibel Motorsport team proved his quality last year at Slovakia Ring, where he finished in second place in both races. He finished fifth in the overall standings, behind Bartosz Groszek, another member of ESET RaceStar.
Groszek from the ADITIS Racing team had great results on both real and virtual tracks. At the beginning of March, he finished third in the sim racing TCR Virtual Global Finale and now he is about to begin driving a real Audi RS3 LMS TCR. Last year, he won his inaugural race at his home track in Poznan and, since then, he has scored podium finishes regularly.
The third driver with the support of ESET RaceStar is Petr Semerád, starting for the Hyundai / Janík Motorsport team. The young, talented driver excels in rally competition, and he won the prestigious Czech rally event Prague Rallysprint in March. Of course, he is also doing well on the circuits and it will be interesting to see how successful he will be in his Hyundai i30N TCR.
