Title favourite Bartosz Groszek from Aditis Racing team has been fastest driver in the qualification for the first race of the TCR Eastern Europe at Grobnik. He is going to start next to the former champion Milovan Vesnić.
Two Audis will fill up the front row on the hot track of the Grobnik circuit, which host another event of the series. Groszek and his team found balanced car setup and Polish racer were able to set the time 1:29.540. Just 0.118 second behind was Milovan Vesnić, who after missing in Poland, is back behind the wheel on the track, where he is always fast.
Third fastest was another title favourite Petr Semerád. Although he had to carry 40 kilograms weight ballast, he and his Hyundai i30N TCR are still fast enough for top positions. Nice surprise in the qualifying result is fourth Žarko Knego. Local racer knows the track very well and is expecting to bring nice results in the upcoming races.
From fifth place is going to start Sebastian Steibel. Petr Čížek carries 30 kilograms weight ballast because of his recent success and podium finishes, so he is going to start from sixth place with his heavier Cupra.
Václav Janík and Radim Adámek are going to start from fourth row. Team owner and driver Janík is racing at Grobnik for the first time. Adámek brought to Croatia brand new Audi.
Tomasz Rzepecki hoped for better result, but he had to start from nineth position, in front of local drivers Grega Šimunović and Robert Pravdič.
