Maťo Homola – Hyundai Elantra N TCR (Hyundai / Janík Motorsport) – 1st place
It’s been a long time since I have won a home race and I’m happy about it. For sure, it’s better to win at home than abroad. Anyway, I had a great start, then I created a gap, and that was it. I’m very happy with the win and I’m happy for Petr, as he is fighting for the championship. It was also an important race for us in terms of testing the car. As we changed a couple of things on the car, we needed to find out how it would behave in race pace.
Petr Semerád – Hyundai Elantra N TCR (Hyundai / Janík Motorsport) – 2nd place
I was surprised that Levente Losonczy was so close behind me in the opening lap. I didn’t notice him, so I went quite wide on the track, but fortunately, there wasn’t any contact. My goal was to stay close to Maťo for as long as possible, although it was quite a lonely race without any fights for me. I began to make a little mistake in the first turn because the car suddenly started braking completely differently than how I was used to during qualifying and practices. Instead of changing brake bias or something, I began braking a bit earlier and kept a reasonable pace until the finish.
Petr Čížek – Cupra León Competición TCR (Fullinrace Academy) – 3rd place
I had a good start. I maintained my position and, during the following two laps, I managed to move up into third place, which I tried to keep until the finish. The two Elantras were too fast, so I just kept up the pace and enjoyed the race. The car worked well, although, for the last couple of minutes, the tyres were gone. But I think that was an issue for everybody in the field. So I’m happy with the result because it looks like it will be raining tomorrow, which is not my cup of tea.
