The final race of the season will take place during the Czech Truck Prix race weekend at Autodrom Most and the situation in the standings couldn’t be better. One of three drivers could win the title.
The main battle for the championship will be held between championship leader Bartosz Groszek from ADITIS Racing and Petr Semerád from Hyundai Janík Motorsport. They are separated by just two points. It has never been that close in the history of TCR Eastern Europe. In addition to his two-point lead, Groszek has another advantage over Semerád. He will be carrying only 10 kilos of weight ballast in his Audi compared to the 20 kilos that will be in Semerád’s Hyundai.
Petr Čížek from the Fullinrace Academy team is experiencing his best season in TCR Eastern Europe yet. He has scored three podium finishes with his Cupra and, thanks to the great pace he has kept up throughout the entire season, he has a mathematical chance to win the championship. He is currently losing 51 points to Groszek and, because a driver can score a maximum of 55 points, there is still a chance for Čížek, although pretty slim.
Čížek’s teammate at Most will be the experienced three-time European touring car champion Petr Fulín, who will be back behind the wheel after a long break. The owner of Fullinrace Academy knows the Most circuit very well and he could be a hot favourite for the race win.
Fulín could also have the final word in the team standings, as his team is in third place with a theoretical chance to move up to second, in front of ADITIS Racing. Hyundai Janík Motorsport sits in the lead with a nice points margin, but nothing will be definitive until the drivers reach the finish line of the last race at Most.
The crowned champion will obtain prizes worth of 30 000 euro. Exactly 20 000 euro are in form of starting money for TCR Europe and 10 000 euro as voucher for Kumho tires.
The first race of the weekend will start at 15:20 on Saturday. The final race of the season will happen at 13:40 on Sunday.
