Petr Fulín made his comeback to TCR Eastern Europe with the Aditis Racing team and showed why he was considered a favourite. The experienced touring car driver led the race from start to finish. Petr Čížek from Expres Auto Racing secured second place, Maťo Homola finished third with Hyundai and extended his lead in the championship.
Petr Fulín lined up his Audi on pole position alongside second man in the championship Davit Kajaia. Behind them were Petr Čížek, delivering his strongest qualifying performance of the season, and René Kircher. Maťo Homola started from fifth place.
Petr Čížek had a brilliant start with his Cupra and briefly took the lead, but Fulín played it safe and regained the top spot in the first chicane. Čížek held onto second place, while Davit Kajaia from Mertel Motorsport initially secured third position. However, Kajaia went off the track in the first lap and dropped to eighth place.
After the first lap, the order was Fulín in the lead, followed by Čížek, Homola under pressure from Kircher, and Adam Kout, who was soon overtaken by Giacomo Ghermandi.
The top six drivers were locked in a close battle, with only a second separating them. Fulín maintained a reasonable pace to stay ahead of Čížek while also preserving the car. Homola closely followed, but he didn’t want to take excessive risks since Davit Kajaia had run into his own problems after going off track. Kajaia had a damaged splitter and lost another position, finishing ninth.
Kout managed to overtake Ghermandi and regain fifth place behind René Kircher. Ghermandi, on the other hand, made a braking error in the first chicane and was subsequently passed by Petr Fulín Jr.
Petr Fulín maintained his lead for the remainder of the race, securing a well-deserved victory. Petr Čížek finished second, and Maťo Homola extended his championship lead with a third-place finish. René Kircher took fourth place and also emerged as the winner of the Junior class. He also moved to second place in the championship in front of his team mate Kajaia. Adam Kout claimed fifth place, followed by Petr Fulín Jr. in sixth, and Giacomo Ghermandi in seventh, who, thanks to the draw, will start from pole position in Sunday’s race.
