Despite the conclusion of the TCR Eastern Europe season, the overall standings of the Junior Trophy across all series—ESET Cup, TCR Eastern Europe, and F4 CEZ—have yet to be finalized. This is because the F4 CEZ series is set to have its final event at Balaton Park.
Promoting and showcasing young talents is a priority for the ESET Cup and other series. Since the establishment of the ESET Cup, junior awards have been given to the most successful drivers under the age of 23.
Regardless of whether the drivers compete in touring cars, sports cars, or open-wheel vehicles, everyone has equal conditions thanks to the points coefficient based on the number of entries in the category. The Junior Trophy classification will consider the best 12 results from this year, and the final decision will be made at the last round of the F4 CEZ at Balaton Park, where the Junior of the year will be determined.
Currently, Martin Kadlečík, the winner of the Clio Cup trophy, leads the Junior Trophy with 111.1 points. Jáchym Galáš holds the second position, followed by Michal Pavlíček with 102.77 and 101.2 points, respectively. These three drivers won’t be able to improve their points as their seasons have concluded. However, F4 racer Reno Francot sits in fourth place and still has three races remaining in the season, with only eleven results counted so far. Therefore, his 96.63 points are likely to increase.
It’s worth noting that the top junior in TCR Eastern Europe is René Kircher from Mertel Motorsport, who currently sits in sixth place in the standings. Since the season has ended for him, he can only drop in the rankings. Ethan Ischer from F4 CEZ currently holds the ninth position and is more than 10 points behind Kircher. However, with a strong performance, Ischer has a chance to surpass Kircher in the standings.
As a result, the final outcome of this classification remains undecided, and we must wait until the last round of the F4 CEZ championship at Balaton Park on October 7th and 8th for the definitive result.
