The opening round of the TCR Eastern Europe championship at the Red Bull Ring began with Saturday qualifying, where Adam Kout set the fastest time in his Hyundai Elantra, claiming his first pole position of the year.

On Saturday morning, the TCR cars roared through the pit lane, battling for the best qualifying time for the first time in the 2025 season. Kout from the Hyundai Janík Motorsport team established the quickest pace early and remained at the top for the entire session, which was red-flagged with two minutes remaining and not resumed.

Second fastest was Giacomo Ghermandi, driving a Honda Civic for the MM Motorsport team. The Italian narrowly edged out Bartosz Groszek, who drove an Audi RS3 for Aditis Racing. The margin between these two drivers was only 0.002 seconds.

Viktor Andersson, in the orange Lynk & Co from MA:GP Racing, secured fourth place, finishing just ahead of Martin Kadlečík from Aditis Racing. Kadlečík will start the race alongside Petr Čížek, who qualified sixth in a Cupra Competición from Expres Racing Team.

Žarko Knego brought his newly liveried blue Hyundai Elantra home in seventh place, followed by Kout’s teammate Jiří Zbožínek in eighth.
