Hungarian driver for M1RA Motorsport, Attila Bucsi, won the qualifying for the second round of the TCR Eastern Europe series at Red Bull Ring. He beat reigning champion Maťo Homola from Hyundai Janík Motorsport.
The front row for today’s afternoon race is locked by Hyundai cars, with Bucsi’s Hyundai i30 starting from pole position alongside Homola’s Hyundai Elantra. The results for the first four positions are very close, with third-place Giacomo Ghermandi in a Honda Civic only 0.043 seconds behind Bucsi. Fourth-place Adam Kout in a Hyundai Elantra was just 0.088 seconds behind.
René Kircher in a Honda Civic set the fifth fastest time, with Petr Čížek in a Cupra coming in sixth. The fourth row on the grid belongs to Ivars Vallers (Audi) and Žarko Knego (Hyundai). Jiří Zbožínek (Hyundai) and Vít Smejkal (Cupra) rounded out the TOP 10 places.
The very tight qualifying session in the TOP 4 positions is a great promise for spectacular racing in the afternoon, as slipstreaming will surely be the key to success.
