One win and fourth place are enough for Bartosz Groszek to lead the driver’s standings in TCR Eastern Europe.
Groszek from ADITIS Racing entered the new season on a high note and, after starting from pole position, he won the first race, holding Maťo Homola behind his back up until the finish. In the second race, he started with his Audi from tenth place and moved up to fourth, which was enough for him to leave Hungary as the leader in points standings.
Second in the standings is junior driver Petr Semerád, who started with Hyundai / Janík Motorsport, thanks to the ESET RaceStar project. Semerád scored fourth and second place in each race, respectively. His future in TCR Eastern Europe is open and we might see him in other races as well. On the other hand, Milenko Vuković is committed for the full season and, thanks to two third-place finishes, he holds third position in the standings.
Fourth and fifth are the teammates from Hyundai / Janík Motorsport, Maťo Homola and, winner of the second race, Jáchym Galáš. They approached the event as a serious test for their new Hyundai Elantra cars and they will focus on TCR Europe for the rest of the season, so they will continue to appear in the standings after other events.
Sixth is Petr Čížek with a Cupra from Fullinrace Academy, seventh is junior driver Tomasz Rzepecki with a VW Golf, and eighth is another junior, Levente Losonczy, with an Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
Overall, thirteen out of sixteen drivers scored points.
