This year’s TCR Eastern Europe champion Dušan Borković took part in the 53rd edition of the Serbia rally and he won in a dominant fashion.
The 3rd round of the season at Brno and the final event of the year at Hungaroring are almost two months apart. Dušan Borković, who has already clinched his championship title, has decided to use this break to start in the biggest rally event at home. He entered the 53rd edition of the Serbia Rally, together with NIS Petrol Racing Team, driving a Škoda Fabia R5 Evo car.
And it proved to be the right decision. Borković and his co-driver Igor Marković completely dominated the whole event, winning 10 out of 12 stages. But the Serbian duo did not have it easy, as they even had two incidents in the opening stage on Saturday. They also had to deal with the rain on Sunday. In the end, they managed to win ahead of Miroslav Angelov and Georgi Gadzhev by 2 minutes and 20 seconds.

„This is another very important title for me, which is also the icing on the cake of this unusual season, after winning the title and the championship title of the TCR Eastern Europe. I am immensely grateful to the fans and my long-term sponsors who provided me with the great support, as well as to my NIS Petrol Racing team, Škoda Serbia and the city of Vrnjačka Banja,” said Borković.

It was Borković’s 2nd win in this competition, as he also ended up victorious with the same team, same co-driver and the same car in last year’s rally edition as well.
