The upcoming TCR Eastern Europe season is going to see also the latest specification of a TCR car –Cupra Leon Competición TCR. Thanks to a Fullinrace Academy driver Petr Čížek.
The TCR Eastern Europe championship begins this weekend at Grobnik, Croatia. It is going to be the 2nd season of the series and that brings also the TCR car of the latest specification, thanks to Petr Čížek, who is racing for Fullinrace Academy. That will be the Cupra Leon Competición TCR.
“We can’t wait for it. On the other hand, it wasn’t easy at all, to learn everything that this car can do in just those few days. We’ll have to do a lot of things on the fly during the races. But on the first look, it seems like a high-quality racing car,“ says Čížek.
The Czech driver hopes that this new car can help him to fight for the wins. But he knows that it won’t be easy: “We’ll be working race from race, let’s wait and see what we can do. Of course, I’d be happy if we could get near the fastest guys or even beat them, with this new car. But for now, we don’t even know what kind of BOP we’ll get from TCR. Also, despite the shortened season, there’ll be plenty of great names. And we definitely want to fight against them.“
Last year, Čížek managed to take the 4th place overall with a Cupra Leon TCR car. In two cases, he even made it to the podium. First TOP 3 finish came in 2nd race at Hungaroring, where he finished in the 3rd place. The other podium came at Grobnik, where he added another 3rd place in the opening race of the weekend. No doubts, he will be feeling confident coming into this weekend.
