Austrian driver Tobias Poschik made a deal with Aditis Racing team in TCR Eastern Europe. He is going to race with championship winning Audi RS 3 LMS TCR.
Poschik debuted in Clio Cup in 2022 season and won the Clio IV Trophy standings. Next obvious step was TCR Eastern Europe: “We planned to move up to TCR, but first we had to go through the financial stuff. Happily it all worked out and we made an agreement with Aditis Racing. Main reason why we choose Aditis was their professional work and appearance on the track,” says Poschik about his new team, managed by Radim Adámek.
He will be racing older generation Audi, however it´s still very successful car. Bartosz Groszek won with it 2022 season. The colours of the Audi will remain pretty much same with the new driver, because Poschik, like Groszek in the past season, is going to race with the support of ESET RaceStar project.
“I was really happy, when I got told that I am in the RaceStar project. The project is really important for us this season, without it, the step to TCR would not be possible,” appreciates Poschik. “Although Austria has a nice motorsport history, today’s companies are not really interested in sponsoring a racing driver. On the one hand, motorsport is by far not as popular in Austria as skiing for example, and has a smaller media reach. On the other hand, most companies are still suffering from the covid pandemic,” continues Poschik, who besides Clio Cup also won Eset Junior classification.
After the new year will be time for winter preparation. Poschik couldn´t test the car yet, but is definitely looking forward to the first drive with the much powerful car. And what is his goal for the following season? “That’s really difficult to say because I didn´t drive the car yet. I would definitely be happy with a P5 finish in the championship,” says Poschik. But who knows, maybe the goal will change during the course of the season and Poschik will have outright speed like in Clio Cup.
