Žarko Knego started racing in hillclimb races in 2009 competing in Croatian Hillclimb championship. After two years, he also started racing on the circuits.

In 2019, he moved from national to international racing and started to race in TCR Eastern Europe, where is he competing every since.

He is a two times Croatian hillclimb champion, Croatian circuit racing champion. In TCR Eastern Europe, his biggest achievement is the 3rd place from Brno in 2023.
