Bartlomiej Mirecki and Bartosz Groszek celebrated the victories during the penultimate round of TCR Eastern Europe Simracing at Slovakia Ring. While Mirecki won in Race 1, Groszek was the best in Race 2 and secured the championship title.
On Tuesday, July 28, the virtual TCR Eastern Europe Simracing continued. The penultimate round at Slovakia Ring was on the schedule.
It was Bartlomiej Mirecki, who entered this event in the best way. He won the qualifying and took the pole position for Race 1. The second fastest time was set by Karol Urbaniak, who made his debut in TCR Eastern Europe Simracing during this event. Yannick Mettler was third, Miklas Born finished on the fourth place and the championship leader Bartosz Groszek secured the fifth place for the start of Race 1.
After Race 1, Mirecki also could celebrate. He spent a complete race in the lead and he reached to the second victory of the season.
Miklas Born finished on the second place. Tomáš Korený crossed the line as third. He moved to the bronze position in the last lap, when he overtook Gabriela Jílková after a thrilling battle. So she had to settle with the fourth place.
Balint Hatvani was classified as the fifth. Race 1 wasn´t happy for Bartosz Groszek. He finished only on the tenth position.
But this unsatisfactory result gave Groszek a good place for the start of Race 2, where he stood third behind the pole-sitter Stefan Tanner and the second Tom Beckhäuser.
However, he was able to move to the first place during Race 2 and crossed the line on the first position. In the finish, he won the fifth victory of the season, but also the championship title and he became the first TCR Eastern Europe Simracing champion in the history.
Tomáš Korený took the second place and achieved the TOP 3 result also in the second race of this round. The Race 1 winner Bartlomiej Mirecki also gained the podium. He was third after the start from the 12th place.
The rookie Karol Urbaniak took the fourth place in Race 2. He fought his way there after the start from the 18th place, where he finished Race 1 after the contact with Miklas Born in the opening meters. Tom Beckhäuser finished fifth. The results of the both races are only provisional so far.
The final round of TCR Eastern Europe Simracing season will take place on August 11 at Automotodrom Brno.
