Robert Pravdič is making a return to the TCR Eastern Europe series after three years. He will compete for the AMD Slovenija Avto team, driving a Hyundai Elantra N TCR — a car with a successful racing history.
“I bought a Hyundai Elantra N TCR racing car from Janík Motorsport, which was driven by last season’s winner, Mato Homola. I plan to compete in all TCR Eastern Europe races in the 2025 season,” explained Pravdič, who previously owned an Audi RS3 TCR but sold it at the end of last season.
“It was already five years old and no longer competitive compared to the newer cars. The field in TCR Eastern Europe is very strong, and you need a fast car,” says Pravdič.
He raced at Grobnik as well as at the Slovakia Ring in 2022, finishing in the top ten on both occasions. Grobnik is also where he will test his new car for the first time.
“I’ll test the car for the first time next week, on Wednesday, March 26 at the Grobnik racetrack. I hope it will be much faster and better than my previous race car, the Audi TCR.”
Pravdič hopes to adapt to the Hyundai as quickly as possible. After competing in the Croatian Championship last year, he is now entering a different racing environment that has evolved since he last raced in the series.
“TCR Eastern Europe is at a very high level and demands a professional approach from both the driver and the team. My goals for this season are to compete in all races, achieve the best possible results and enjoy racing at the age of 57,” adds Pravdič.
