After you achieved his first podium at Hungaroring, you didn´t have so successful weekend at Slovakiaring. In Race 1, you finished 7th. In Race 2, you were 12th. So what are your impressions from the Slovakiaring round and why you weren´t able to build on the results from Hungaroring according to you?
Slovakiaring weekend was full of problems and I hope this coincidence of bad luck and mistakes will never repeat. Qualifying and first race results were poor. In the second race, I got a drive through penalty for tilting the car on the grid and I lost third position and most probably the podium. It was painful but that´s life. My team and I never give up and we will be back stronger.
The next round will take place in Poznan, Poland, so it will be a home race for you. How are you looking forward and what do you expect from it?
Poznan is a very exciting circuit. In my opinion, it is the most exciting circuit in TCR Eastern Europe calendar because of high speeds and very close barriers. If you want to be fast, you have to be very precise and calm. It is a home race and this is my favorite race track, I love when there is no room for a mistake. It´s an added value for me, even if I crashed in Poznan several times.
Do you think you can take advantage of track knowledge and you can achieve next podium results or even the first victory?
Of course, I know this track well. But from the other side, many drivers from our series raced there in Octavia Cup or in Clio Cup, for example. Some of them even won in Poznan, because fast drivers are fast everywhere. There will be no revolutionary changes in standings after Poznan weekend.
Do you think that Poznan round will be different in any way than other rounds? If so, why?
Every race weekend is a different story, Poznan is a demanding circuit. This track does not forgive mistakes and the probability of safety car deployment is bigger then on other tracks. So for sure, the weekend will be interesting. I believe that it will be interesting also for TCR Eastern Europe fans to see the drivers who are specialists of Slovakiaring or Brno in a not so familiar environment.
What are your targets for the rest of the season? With what position would you be satisfied in the final championship standings?
Target is always the same – fight hard and do a best possible job. My championship position is not the most important this year. I have a big ambitions, but we have to be realistic. My competitors race for many years. Some of them started in karting, many of them raced in Clio Cup. They have big experience as a drivers, they have big experience as a teams and this is a huge advantage over us.
I took a decision to establish my team BTC Maszyny and start to race two years ago and I immediately jumped into very competitive group. Now, we need to make two steps while our competitiors make one. I am aware how much work we still have to do, but sporting competition is in my bones, I love to do it.
