Michal Makeš takes pole position for Race 1 at Slovakiaring. His main rival in the championship fight Tomáš Pekař went off the track in Lap 2, but he managed to set a second fastest time despite that. Giacomo Ghermandi shone with third fastest lap time.
It´s Michal Makeš who began the penultimate round of TCR Eastern Europe season at Slovakiaring in the best way. He set the time 2:11,791 in qualifying and secured pole position for Race 1 of the weekend.
The championship leader Tomáš Pekař had a very short qualifying. It lasted only two laps. In Lap 2, he went off the track. Despite that, his time from first lap was enough for second place. Makeš scored three extra points and Pekař two points for their results. It means Makeš reduced his gap to Pekař in championship standings to five points.
Giacomo Ghermandi enjoyed a really good first qualifying with new Cupra Leon Competición TCR car. The Italian finished third. The TCR Eastern Europe rookie Jonas Karklys will start alongside him in Race 2. The Lithuanian set the fourth fastest time.
The fifth Sebastian Steibel, sixth Bartosz Groszek, seventh Petr Čížek, eighth Carol Wittke, ninth Radim Adámek and tenth Sanel Cehic completed TOP 10. The TCR Eastern Europe returnee René Martinek finished 13th.
