Following a positive opening weekend in Hungary, Giacomo Ghermandi is set to start the second round of the TCR Eastern Europe with a striking new livery on his Honda Civic Type R TCR, courtesy of the MM Motorsport team.
Ghermandi’s journey in the TCR Eastern Europe series is progressing rapidly. After a promising debut three weeks ago at Balaton Park in Hungary, where he secured a fourth and sixth place, the speedy driver from Bologna is now aiming for a podium finish in Austria.
This upcoming weekend presents a crucial opportunity for Ghermandi to fine-tune his connection with the Honda Civic Type R TCR and solidify his standing among the top contenders in a championship that has only grown more competitive compared to last year. Despite arriving in Hungary without any testing time in the new car, Ghermandi showcased an impressive performance in the season’s first stage, holding third place for a significant portion of both races and demonstrating great potential for the rest of the season.
The race weekend on the esteemed track in the heart of Styria will also feature Ghermandi’s new livery, designed to enhance the sleek lines of the Japanese car while highlighting the partners supporting Ghermandi’s ambitious racing endeavors this season.
“We arrive at the Red Bull Ring with great enthusiasm and the goal of achieving a strong result after the positive opening weekend in Hungary. This time, my coach Pepe Oriola won’t be with me, but I’ll have the invaluable support of WTCC champion Esteban Guerrieri. I am confident we will work well together. I must express my gratitude to the MM Motorsport team, who have made me feel at home, working with great professionalism and providing the best possible support,” says Ghermandi.
