Tomáš Pekař is set to race in the final round of the TCR Eastern Europe series. The Czech driver is going to race for his own team Carpek Racing with a Cupra León TCR car.
One great racing name is coming back to the TCR Eastern Europe series. Tomáš Pekař is returning to race with his own team Carpek Racing in the final round of the season that takes place at Hungaroring during the weekend of 24-25 October. The Czech driver is going to race with the Cupra León TCR.
“We decided to enter the TCR Eastern Europe in Hungary and we’ll take part in the final round of the season. We intend to enter with an older Cupra León TCR that we have recently bought from Vekra Racing,“ said Pekař but he is planning on doing more.
“Next year, our goal is to do the whole TCR Eastern Europe series. I like this championship and it has a high-quality entry list. Also, some of our other drivers are considering a switch there, so it’s a logical step for us,” said the star of the Renault Clio Cup races, who is also a two-time Central European champion.
Tomáš Pekař already tried the TCR Eastern Europe before. Last year, he raced a Renault Mégane R.S TCR of Besagroup Vuković Motorsport team at Red Bull Ring. And Pekař did well. While he finished 4th in the first race of the weekend, in the second one he managed to win.

The TCR Eastern Europe starting grid at Hungaroring is now going to offer 5 of its 6 race winners. Apart from Pekař, there are winners like Dušan Borković, Milovan Vesnić, Jáchym Galáš and Dušan Kouřil jr. The only missing race winner will be Martin Ryba, but the Slovak driver does not race in the series anymore.
