Race driver and co-manager of the Expres Auto Racing team, Petr Čížek, will switch to a new model of the Cupra Leon Competición for this TCR Eastern Europe season.
The car change was made possible by the addition of new partners to the team after their debut season in 2023. Čížek, who co-manages the team with Vít Smejkal, has been driving the Cupra Leon Competición since 2020. However, the wear and tear on the car became apparent last year, making the decision to switch to a new car obvious. Čížek describes the new vehicle as nearly identical to the old one, with the main difference being a facelift that isn’t immediately noticeable.
The Expres Auto Racing team is now in full swing preparing for the season, including winter break testing in Most and possibly at other circuits.
There may also be more drivers announced for the team in the future, as Expres Auto Racing is considering fielding more than two cars and exploring participation in other series in addition to TCR Eastern Europe.
