Slovenian driver Robert Pravdič started in TCR Eastern Europe during the fourth round of the championship at Grobnik. It was a tough debut for him after a six-year break, but he managed it very well.
Pravdič started with an Audi RS3 LMS TCR, which was prepared by the ASK Vesnić team. He qualified eleventh and finished the race in eighth. “My wish was to finish in the first 10 positions and I ended up in 8th place, which I think is great. On Sunday, I would have started in pole position, but unfortunately, an accident of one of the competitors crossed my plans. It would have been very interesting to start from pole position on Sunday,” said Pravdič.
He enjoyed sitting in a race car after many years. One thing that was really hard for him, as well as for other drivers, was the weather. “The heat was unbearable, but we’ve survived,” added Pravdič.
So what does the Slovenian driver think about the TCR Eastern Europe championship after his debut? “The competition was very strong, all racers were professionals. Too bad there aren’t more competitors, but this series is quite demanding financially,” evaluated Pravdič, who will soon decide whether or not to participate in the remaining two events of the season at Slovakia Ring and Most.
