Lukasz Stolarczyk is joining the championship. The Pole will be racing for his own team BTC Maszyny Racing.
Last year was the first-ever season for Lukas Stolarczyk in professional Motorsport. And his debut went quite well, as he managed to finish 2nd in the overall standings of the Polish WSMP series in DN4 category.
Now, he has decided for a new challenge in our championship, where he is going to race with his own team BTC Maszyny Racing. He will be race with Volkswagen Golf GTI with a sequential gearbox.
But the 2020 season is going to be a learning curve for Stolarczyk, as he does not want to have any big ambitions until 2021.
“I want to do the best I can with my package. I’ll be racing for the first time on five tracks on the calendar. The only circuit I know is Poznań. So I’m not expecting to be fighting for the win. But of course, I want to achieve the best results possible, so I’m ready for 2021 season to fight on the top. The 2020 season will be all about learning,” said Stolarczyk.
But the opening round in Hungaroring, won’t be Pole’s first-ever race in the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR. Due to the issues he had in his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 last season, he raced with the Golf in last season’s final round of the Polish series.
