Introducing the brand-new TCR Eastern Europe Simracing championship.

Just like many other racing series, also the TCR Eastern Europe championship has decided to use the Coronavirus break to enter the esports scene. The inaugural TCR Eastern Europe Simracing series consists of five rounds that will take place on Assetto Corsa simulator.

Every round is going to take place on Tuesday. The first is scheduled for June 16 at Hungaroring. Then the calendar follows with Red Bull Ring on June 30, Grobnik on July 14, Slovakia Ring on July 28, and a big finale at Brno circuit on August 11.

Each race is going to begin with a two-hour long free practice session. Then a 20-minute qualifying session will follow, and it is not going to be just about determining the grid for the opening race. The TOP 10 drivers are going to receive also points in the following system: 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1.

And then two separate races, each 55 kilometres long. The organisers are going to use a reverse-grid for TOP 12 for the second race. In both races, the TOP 15 drivers will receive points using the following system: 40-35-30-27-24-21-18-15-13-11-9-7-5-3-1. But only drivers are eligible for points, as there will not be a dedicated teams’ championship. Qualifyings and races will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of TCR and also on social networks.

Drivers cannot use any assists, apart from an automatic clutch. When it comes to car setups, the driver can adjust only tyre pressure, brake pressure, brake balance and a differential lock. During the event, it is allowed to refuel the cars. It is compulsory to use Balance of Performance system, that is a part of the TCR Car Mod, and it is prohibited to adjust the settings there in any way. The penalty for this is a disqualification. Drivers will be allowed to use a test server that is going to be available 24/7.

TCR Eastern Europe launches its own SIM Racing series

We can look forward to many known names from TCR scene. We will see young guns as Jáchym Galáš, Michal Makeš, Szymon Ladniak, Tomáš Korený or Matěj Kácovský. But the starting grid will include also matadors as Tomáš Pekař, Petr Fulín, Miro Horňák, Jannick Mettler or Stefan Tanner.

The Czech fastest female driver Gabriela Jílková, Austrian journalist and active racer at the same time Keijo Keke Platzer and the perennial of the Central European region as Jakub Wyszomirski, Radim Adámek, Maciej Laskiewicz, Žarko Knego, Carol Wittke and René Martinek will be also on the grid. “I am very happy we managed to a TCR sim racing championship in our region, like TCR Europe or TCR Australia. Our best drivers will take part in the virtual TCR Eastern Europe and I am very curious about the battles between the young generation, which is more used to simulators, and experienced drivers, who are just getting used to virtual races,” championship promoter Josef Křenek said.

The overall winner will gain racing suit from the Italian manufacturer OMP. The winners of each event will receive racing oils from Ravenol.
