How the opening round of the TCR Eastern Europe series at the Oschersleben circuit affected the drivers‘ placings in the ranking? Many drivers made a major progress.

Mat’o Homola’s strong opening weekend has seen the Slovakian make signifiant gains in the ranking. Already just within the top 45, Mat’o’s victory and second-place finish at Oschersleben has helped the Hyundai driver climb ten places to 29th overall.

Tobias Poschik has become the 1,000th driver to be included in the KUMHO TCR World Ranking, with the Austrian driver among five newcomers in the series this weekend. “To be the 1,000th driver recorded in the KUMHO TCR World Ranking is pretty exciting I’d say,” said Poschik, who is working with outgoing champion Bartosz Groszek, still 11th in the ranking after his title-winning campaign in 2022.

“Working with Bartosz is amazing, he’s helping me a lot,” added Poschik. “He’s giving me a lot of helpful advice not just in the paddock, but also on the radio during the sessions. I was surprised how great we work together…and I believe we can achieve a lot.”

Petr Fulín’s outing at Oschersleben saw the Czech driver climb the most places of anyone, up 110 spots to 217th position in his Fullinrace Academy Cupra. The Czech driver only recorded one result in 2022, and so had a low base score to start from, hence moving from 8.1 points to 16.88 points, the same points gain as the two star newcomers of the weekend, which were…

It was a fantastic debut for Janík Motorsport pair Carlo Czepiel and Adam Kout. Kout’s podium in Race 1, and fourth place in Race 2 earned 8.77 points, launching him straight into 307th place in the ranking. Kout was just one position, and 0.01 points behind his new team-mate Czepiel, with Czepiel’s win in Race 2 helping to secure him as the highest new entry of all the TCR Eastern Europe competitors this weekend.
