Milovan Vesnić had a complicated season start. “We sold our Audi and started negotiating to buy a newer car. But only a month and a half before the first race, everything “fell into the water,” so we decided to stay with the old generation,” described Vesnić before the 2022 season.
ASK Vesnić racing team bought another Audi TCR car and mechanics took care of it. Unfortunately, first two rounds at Hungaroring and Red Bull Ring didn´t end up well. Only seventh and tenth positions and two DNF´s were the results from first quarter of the season.
Vesnić skipped event at Poznań, but he was back at Grobnik. And very strong. He was second fastest in qualifying. “I´m very happy and finally my car is working perfect. We have completely changed suspension for this weekend,” said Vesnić after the qualifying.
Vesnić took the race lead immediately thanks to the Groszek´s terrible start and kept the lead until the end of the race. Although Groszek put Vesnić under the pressure in the late stage of the race, experienced Vesnić scored precious win.
“Finally good result, finally first victory of the season and I´m happy that the car finally works as I wish,” said happy Vesnić, former TCR Eastern Europe champion from 2019 season.
