Swedish driver Viktor Andersson from the MA:GP team is the newest addition to the field for the opening round of TCR Eastern Europe in Austria.
Andersson competed in the last two seasons of TCR Europe with a Lynk & Co 03 TCR car and achieved several podium finishes, including one in Brno last year, where TCR Europe and TCR Eastern Europe merged fields and raced together.
From April 11th to 13th this year, Andersson will meet his competitors from Brno again, this time in Austria, where he has signed up for the first race.
„TCR Eastern Europe is a strong championship and this is a great opportunity to gain race experience early in the season,“ explained Viktor Andersson his decision to participate at Red Bull Ring. “We will race on this track later in the year in TCR Europe so gathering data and fine-tuning the car in a competitive environment will be very valuable. We had a great experience racing together in Brno last season so we’re happy to be back.”
„My goal for the races is to fight for the podium. With strong competition and Red Bull Ring being a new track for me, I’m focused on doing my best and looking forward to a good fight.“
MA:GP is a family team run by Andersson’s father, Mattias, who was a successful touring car driver, competing for many seasons in the Scandinavian and Swedish touring car championships.
Viktor Andersson remains committed to the Lynk & Co 03 TCR car from the year 2022, and we will see him again in the easily recognizable orange livery.
„My main focus this season is on TCR Europe, but if the schedule allows and the budget permits. I’d be excited to take part in more TCR Eastern Europe races, as it’s a strong championship,“ added Viktor Andersson.
