The penultimate round of the TCR Eastern Europe series in Brno promises to be a special event. The regular starting grid will be bolstered by the addition of the TCR Europe field, offering fans the exciting prospect of numerous TCR cars on the track and fierce battles for the championship in both series.

This isn’t the first time TCR Eastern Europe and TCR Europe have combined forces to create a unique racing experience for drivers and spectators alike. In Brno, it will happen once again, presenting additional challenges, particularly for the three drivers at the top of the TCR Eastern Europe points table.

The podium ceremony will be for overall results and for TCR Eastern Europe drivers. There will be also familiar face, representing TCR Europe grid. Bartosz Groszek, TCR Eastern Europe champion in 2022, will be behind the wheel of Audi from Aditis Racing Team.

Maťo Homola, from the Hyundai Janík Motorsport team, aims to extend his lead in the championship. He currently sits in first place with 167 points, while Attila Bucsi trails by 26 points. The young M1RA Motorsport driver had an unfortunate weekend in the previous race, losing close contact with Homola, and allowing Adam Kout with Hyundai Elantra to close the gap to just six points behind Bucsi. Spectators can look forward to the battle between teammates Homola and Kout, as well as Bucsi with Hyundai i30, as the season gradually draws to a close.

Who will emerge as the best of the rest? That’s a good question with many possible answers. Petr Čížek with Cupra from the Expres Auto Racing team scored multiple points in the last round at Most, his favourite track, and currently holds fourth place with 70 points. However, several drivers are eager to climb up the standings, including René Kircher from Mertel Motorsport, the returning Martin Kadlečík in Aditis Racing, Žarko Knego from Autoklub Dubrovnik, Giacomo Ghermandi from MM Motorsport, and Davit Kajaia – Kircher’s teammate.

Kircher with Honda Civic and Knego with Hyundai Elantra have already secured podium finishes this season, while Ghermandi with Audi has consistently contended for the top three, but has been hampered by unfortunate circumstances. Mertel Motorsport will also be fielding a third Honda Civic for the only woman on the grid, Jorden Dolischka, who started from the front row in Most. Additionally, we will see the return of a third Hyundai Elantra from Hyundai Janík Motorsport, driven by Jiří Zbožínek, who is gaining valuable experience in his debut season.

Other regulars this season include Ivars Vallers with Audi from LV Racing, who enjoyed his first podium finish at the Red Bull Ring, and Czech driver Vít Smejkal with Cupra from Expres Auto Racing.
