Maťo Homola – Hyundai Elantra N TCR (Hyundai / Janík Motorsport) – 1st place
The result is great. Needless to say that the whole event is kind of a test for next weekend at Nürburgring, so we are trying a different car setup and it suits me really well. The car worked great in qualifying, unlike yesterday, but that was due to the high temperatures. I’m looking forward to today’s race because I’m enjoying the car’s setup and the circuit, of course. And racing in front of my home crowd is always great.
Petr Semerád – Hyundai Elantra N TCR (Hyundai / Janík Motorsport) – 2nd place
We have to be satisfied with the qualifying. Second place is nice. Maťo is an experienced driver and I wasn’t expecting to beat him. He is racing in TCR Europe and knows the car well, which also helps me. We share car data, so I’m able to see what he is doing with his car and how he is driving. The Elantra is a completely different car compared to the i30 N, and you need to change your driving style a little bit.
Levente Losonczy – Hyundai Elantra N TCR (Aggressive Team Italia) – 3rd place
The result is very promising. We had to skip two free practices yesterday, so I didn’t get a feel for the car, but we have a good setup and we made the right call to change tyres before the end of the qualifying and it worked well. I’m looking forward to the race. We will have four race weekends with Aggressive Team Italia and this is our first one, so it’s mostly about learning and gaining experience. I didn’t set a goal for the race, but I want to race and fight for the podium.
