Patrick Sing – Hyundai i30N TCR (RaceSing) – 1st place
I’m really happy about the win. Qualifying ended well for me, so it was important to have a good start at this track with a long uphill straight. I had a good start and managed to overtake two cars. There was a little contact with another car, but it didn’t really make a difference for my car and, during the race, I moved into the lead and managed to hold it. I could feel tyre degradation, but we have a good car setup, so it wasn’t a big issue.
Petr Čížek – Cupra León Competición TCR (Fullinrace Academy) – 2nd place
I enjoyed the race, although it was really hot in the car because the air conditioning didn’t work. I’m satisfied with second place. I have never come in second, so now there is only one position left to win. My tyres were fine, but my brakes were fading out, so that was a bit of an issue. Also, the first car went wide in the last corner quite often and was gaining an advantage, so it was difficult for me to catch up. But, overall, I’m very happy with the results.
Václav Janík – Hyundai i30N TCR (Hyundai / Janík Motorsport) – 3rd place
I must say, I didn’t expect a podium finish after my debut at Hungaroring. I decided to race a little bit differently this time and it paid off. It was a nice race, apart from the heat. Because I’m more of a hill climb racer, where I’m done racing within three minutes, for me, this was a long race in hot conditions. I also knew that I had enough speed to keep up with Petr and was waiting for him to make a mistake, but it never happened. It doesn’t really matter, though, because third place is a great achievement.
