Milan Vuković – Renault Megane TCR (Vukovic Motorsport) – 1st place
I don’t exactly know what happened at the start, but there were a lot of cars going side by side into the first corner, and there just wasn’t enough room for everybody. After the first corner, I was in second place right behind Rene Kircher, and soon I overtook him in the second turn. I kept the lead until the end, and that was it. To be honest, we expected to be fast here, but winning the first race starting from eighth is an amazing result.
Rene Kircher – Honda Civic TCR FK7 (Mertel Motorsport) – 2nd place
It’s a great result. I had a phenomenal start; I don’t even know how I managed it. Unfortunately, I had a bit of a problem with tire pressure, but overall, I think it was a very good race. It was my first time racing on this track, and I’m very happy with our team’s results. I couldn’t do much to defend the lead as my tires were still cold, and Milan was just faster than me.
Davit Kajaia – Honda Civic TCR FK7 (Mertel Motorsport) – 3rd place
I’m more than happy, but I was also struggling a lot because I was hit by one of the Vukovic Motorsport cars, and then my steering was bent. So, I had to drive with the steering wheel in the incorrect position. Therefore, I was struggling with too much understeer, and I wasn’t able to keep the car in the correct lines. But overall, I’m happy that I was able to keep third place and get a great result for our team with Rene.
