Carlo Czepiel – Hyundai Elantra N TCR (Hyundai Janík Motorsport) – 1st place
I’m very happy with the win. Since I moved up to second place, I was waiting for Tobias to make a mistake. As we came out of the last corner, I managed to get next to him on the start straight and passed him into the first corner. So I finished first in only my second race in my first season behind the wheel of a racing car. I’m very happy with it, and we are going to celebrate.
Maťo Homola – Hyundai Elantra N TCR (Hyundai Janík Motorsport) – 2nd place
The start was important, and Adam and I had a very good one. We entered the first corner four cars side by side, so I was being cautious. Then it was important to maintain the pace, not make mistakes, and gradually overtake the cars in front of us. The Cupra and Honda were faster on the straights, and where I could theoretically overtake, they pulled away from me. So I didn’t want to take too many risks and preferred to wait for mistakes. They came, so in the end, I overtook in quite unusual places. But I succeeded, I’m second, and the excellent driving Carlo is first, so it’s a great performance for the whole team.
Tobias Poschik – Audi RS3 LMS TCR (Aditis Racing) – 3rd place
I’m really happy. I managed to have a pretty good start, and from then on, I could focus on myself and keep pushing lap after lap. However, Carlo came from behind, and he was quick, putting me under a lot of pressure. Unfortunately, I made a mistake, and I was lucky because it almost cost me the whole race. Then I regained my pace and focus, but Maťo was just faster than me. He had a lot of experience, while I’m still a rookie. But I’m sure we can compete with faster and newer cars in the rest of the season.
