Janík Motorsport will maybe participate in TCR Eastern Europe this year again. The team could appear in selected rounds and the team boss Václav Janík could sit behind the wheel.
Last year, Janík Motorsport appeared in TCR Eastern Europe under the heading of ACCR Czech Talent Team. They will deploy Hyundai i30 N TCR car. In the first three rounds, Dušan Kouřil jr. raced with it. But for the last round of the season at Hungaroring, Kouřil was replaced by Tomáš Korený. Kouřil finished 9th in overall standings and Korený took 13th place. Both scored podium result. Kouřil was 2nd in Race 1 at Slovakiaring and Korený finished 3rd in Race 1 at Hungaroring.
For 2021 season, the main programme of Janík Motorsport will be the participation in TCR Europe, where they will prepare cars for Maťo Homola and for Jáchym Galáš, two time junior champion of TCR Eastern Europe and the vice-champion of 2019 TCR Eastern Europe season. But it is the chance that Janík Motorsport will again race in TCR Eastern Europe at the same time. There is a possibility that the team boss Václav Janík will compete in selected rounds.
„There are some possibilities. We are discussing about it now. It´s possible that I will also race. I´m looking for racing in some way, supposing in TCR Eastern Europe. But we are fully focused on TCR Europe now and we will decide about it in coming days,“ says Janík.
Václav Janík is not a rookie in racing. He is successful especially in hill climb racing. He achieved his biggest success there in 2009 season, where he became the European Hill Climb Racing champion. But he has experience also with circuits. He will race with Norma LMP3 car of his own team in the opening round of 2021 ESET Cup season at Hungaroring.
