Jakub Wyszomirski has decided to enter the series with his own team Honda Wyszomirski Racing Team, where he will be joined by Sebastian Kolakowski.
Last season, Jakub Wyszomirski was driving a Honda Civic Type R TCR (FK2) of ASK Vesnič team. He managed to finish twice on the podium and took the 5th place overall.
In the upcoming 2020 season, he has decided to continue with the same car. However, this time he is going to race for his own team called Honda Wyszomirski Racing Team. To make it even more interested, they will enter also a 2nd Honda Civic, which will be driven by a fellow Polish driver Sebastian Kolakowski. For him, it will be a debut season in the series.
„For 2020 season, we’ve decided to set up a brand new team Honda Wyszomirski Racing Team, where I’ll be racing with Honda Civic Type R (FK2). I’ll be joined by Sebastian Kolakowski, who is going to race with the same car. Originally, we wanted three cars, but due to the coronavirus situation, we had to postpone this plan until next year,“ said Wyszomirski.
“What makes this championship attractive to me is, that all the drivers have the same conditions, despite racing with different cars. I’m looking forward to Grobnik the most and also to Brno. On the other hand, I’m not too excited about Hungaroring. I’d be delighted to finish in the TOP 10,” added Kolakowski ahead of his debut season.
Following Wyszomirski’s and Kolakowski’s announcement, it means there will be four Polish drivers on the grid in 2020. The other ones will be Szymon Ladniak, from GT2 Motorsport, and Lukasz Stolarczyk, last year’s 2nd best driver in the DN4 category of Polish WSMP championship, who is going to race with his own team BTC Maszyny Racing.
