After first two races of the season, Jáchym Galáš leads the junior standings with 22 points. He is followed by a rookie Michal Makeš in 2nd position with 10 points and Dušan Kouřil Jr. holds the 3rd place with 8 points.
The TCR Eastern Europe series has started its 2nd season last weekend at Grobnik, Croatia. The starting grid also featured 5 junior drivers, who have shown some strong pace.
Jáchym Galáš was the most visible one. The GT2 Motorsport driver, who finished 2nd in the last year’s championship, is always a threat in a battle for the podium. While he finished 5th in the first race of the weekend, he managed to improve to the 4th place in the second race. Thanks to that, he now has 22 points.
Michal Makeš also made his mark during his TCR Eastern Europe series debut. The ESET Cup champion of the Renault Clio Cup category from the past two seasons is racing for Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team. He finished in 8th and 7th positions, taking 10 points, which put him into the 2nd place in the junior standings.

Dušan Kouřil Jr. currently holds the 3rd place in the junior standings. Last year, he finished 3rd in the overall standings. In the opening round of the season, he managed to secure 8 points. In the first race, he finished 7th, while in the other race, he dropped by two places to 9th position. He is racing for a team that is a cooperation between Janík Motorsport and the Autoclub of the Czech Republic.
The junior championship also features Szymon Ladniak and Szymon Jablonski. But the Polish rookies have not managed to get any points. Yet, both drivers have shown some pace and there is good potential for future races.
In the teams’ championship, the Hungarian team M1RA Motorsport lead with 50 points, thanks to two victories by Dušan Borkovič. They are followed by ASK Vesnič with 36 points and ARC Bratislava with 30 points.
