The starting grid for second races of the weekend will reverse in 2021 season. And it is a good change according to reigning champion Dušan Borković.
We will see several changes of regulations in 2021 season. One of the most significant innovations is reversed grid for second races of each weekend. After Race 1, number from six to ten will be drawn. If a six will be drawn, the best six from the first race will reverse, if a seven will be drawn, the best seven will reverse and so on up to ten.
Dušan Borković, the 2020 TCR Eastern Europe champion, is amongst the supporters of this change. It will bring a great spectacle according to him.
„As for the reversed starting grid, drivers will have to prepare a bigger budget. I assume it will be more touches when you mix up a grid like that. If I continue to compete in TCR Eastern Europe in 2021, I will love it. I love good battles,“ said the Serbian driver, who won all eight races in 2020 season.
Except reversed starting grid, we will see also other changes this year. Hankook will replace Yokohama in the role of exclusive tire supplier, only ten best results will be counted and upper age limit for participation in junior classification will be increased from 21 to 23 years.
