Adam Kout from the Hyundai Janík Motorsport team had his eyes on the prize ahead of Race 2 in the TCR Eastern Europe series at Autodrom Most. He didn’t put a foot wrong throughout the entire race, and even a red flag couldn’t interrupt his dominant performance.
Thanks to the reversed grid for the top six, Žarko Knego and Ivars Vallers started from the front row, with teammates Adam Kout and Jiří Zbožínek on the second row and Petr Čížek alongside Race 1 winner Martin Kadlečík on the third row.
Adam Kout had a perfect start and shot into the lead after the first chicane. Kadlečík also made up several positions quickly and stormed into second place on the opening lap. Giacomo Ghermandi, starting from ninth, impressively held fourth by the end of the first lap.
The order after Lap 1 was: Kout, Kadlečík, Knego, Ghermandi, Čížek, Zbožínek, Groszek, Vallers, Smejkal and Peter Szilagyi.
Kout built a gap of more than two seconds to Kadlečík, but lost that advantage when the safety car was deployed due to a collision between Ghermandi and Knego in the first chicane, which caused a traffic jam across the track. The incident forced Ghermandi, Vallers and Petr Čížek to retire from the race.
Because several cars were stranded in the chicane, the race had to be red-flagged.
After a delay, racing resumed behind the safety car with 15 minutes to go. Kout retained the lead, followed by Kadlečík in second and Vallers in third. Vít Smejkal was fourth, while Zbožínek came under pressure from Bartosz Groszek, who passed him around the outside of the penultimate corner. A few laps later, Groszek also overtook Smejkal to move into fourth.
The winner of the second race was Adam Kout, delivering an absolutely flawless performance in his Hyundai Elantra. Championship rival Martin Kadlečík finished second in his Audi RS3 LMS, while another podium went to Groszek, who passed Vallers on the final lap.
Local driver Vít Smejkal crossed the line in fifth, Jiří Zbožínek was sixth, and Peter Szilagyi finished seventh.
