The fifth round of the TCR Eastern Europe season at Automotodrom Brno began on Friday with free practice and the all-important qualifying session, which was won by championship leader Adam Kout from Janík Motorsport. His teammate Jiří Zbožínek was second fastest, securing his best qualifying result so far.
Kout was untouchable today, setting lap times that nobody else could get close to. It looked as though his main championship rival from Aditis Racing would finish second, but at the very last moment Zbožínek edged him out, making it a Hyundai Elantra front row. The Audi RS3 cars of Kadlečík and his teammate Bartosz Groszek will line up on the second row.
Fifth fastest was Žarko Knego in another Hyundai Elantra, and alongside him will be Petr Čížek in a Cupra. Ivars Valler in an Audi and Vít Smejkal in a Cupra will start seventh and eighth, while Radoslav Obrtal in another Cupra will line up ninth.
