As the TCR World Ranking Final finalizes its event format and entry criteria, it has been confirmed that seven drivers from TCR Eastern Europe are eligible to participate in the international event.

It’s no surprise that the year’s champion in TCR Eastern Europe, Maťo Homola from the Hyundai Janík Motorsport team, sits at the top of the ranking. He is 12th in the world ranking in Priority List 1, and he assured us at the end of the season that his goal is to take part in this brand new TCR event.

This year’s newcomer, René Kircher, who finished second in the championship and was the best junior in the field, is 29th in the ranking. The German driver from the Mertel Motorsport team had a very solid season, scoring two wins, and has been one of the championship contenders.

Although Bartosz Groszek only raced in the final event of the season, his last year’s championship title in TCR Eastern Europe still ranks him very high. As an Aditis Racing driver, he had been active during the 2023 season, but Brno was his only start in the TCR championship. He finished third and seventh, proving that he is still very competitive in touring car racing.

Petr Čížek became part of the Expres Auto Racing team as a driver and co-manager. It was a very difficult season for him after finishing third in the standings in 2022. However, Čížek had been very consistent, scoring points in every event except the last one. He finished second on home soil at Most and currently sits in 48th place in the World Ranking Final.

Although Sebastian Steibel didn’t finish his season with Aditis Racing, his second place at Red Bull Ring and regular top-10 results put him in 53rd place in the World Ranking Final.

Adam Kout from the Hyundai Janík Motorsport team is the last eligible driver to take part in the TCR World event. He is in 63rd position in Priority List 2, and only nine positions below him is Davit Kajaia, who didn’t finish the TCR Eastern Europe season on a good note in terms of results but is also qualified for the event.

Now, all drivers on Priority Lists 1 and 2 must confirm their participation in the TCR World Ranking Final by October 31st, 2023.
