Galáš and Pekař were nominated for Golden Steering Wheel Award

Our competitors Jáchym Galáš and Tomáš Pekař are fighting for victory in 2020 Golden Steering Wheel Award. You also can vote for them.

The Golden Steering Wheel Award, the survey where the nominees compete for the best Czech driver, launched the vote for 2020 season. And the two drivers with experience from TCR Eastern Europe are among the nominees – There are Jáchym Galáš and Tomáš Pekař. You are also able to vote for them here.  Votes from the fans will be decisive by fifty percent. The opinion of the expert jury of journalists will be of equal importance.

Galáš became the 2019 TCR Eastern Europe vice-champion with Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR car of GT2 Motorsport team. In 2020, he finished on the overall third position with the same car and the same squad. At the same time, he took the title of Junior champion in both seasons. For 2021 season, Galáš will change the environment. He will race for ACCR Czech Talent Team with Hyundai i30 N TCR car.

Tomáš Pekař raced in TCR Eastern Europe in 2019. He competed in Red Bull Ring round with Renault Mégane R.S TCR of Besagroup Vuković Motorsport that year. And he was very successful. He finished fourth in Race 1 and even won in Race 2. He is set to return to TCR Eastern Europe this season. He should race with Cupra Leon TCR car of his own team Carpek Racing.

Results will be announced on February 18 (the vote will end on February 10) in Prague in the Autoclub of the Czech Republic´s building. The former Formula One driver Robert Kubica will also recieve an award. He will be awarded as a World Personality of Motorsport.
