Jáchym Galáš changes the environment. He will race for ACCR Czech Talent Team in 2021 season.
Jáchym Galáš takes on new challenge. The Czech driver leaves GT2 Motorsport team and will race with Hyundai i30 N TCR of ACCR Czech Talent Team during 2021 season. In 2020, we could see Dušan Kouřil jr. (first three rounds) and Tomáš Korený (last round) in the colours of ACCR Czech Talent Team, which is the joint project of Autoclub of the Czech Republic and Janík Motorsport.
„I already tested Hyundai i30 N TCR car with Janík Motorsport at Slovakia Ring and my first impressions were positive. I was extremely happy both with the car and with the work of the team. Already during the first test, I was faster than in qualifying sessions at Slovakia Ring and there were not ideal conditions during test. I already look forward to the cooperation with Janík Motorsport and to the new season,“ Galáš said about his move.
„Hyundai i30 N TCR works great. It is one of the best cars on the grid. It will take some time before I find the limits of this car, but I hope we will be able to prepare for the season thanks to our testing programme. Hyundai requires a little bit different driving style. I had to lean on it more and just go all faster. My first impression was the car is much more adjusted for driver than Golf and it´s visible it was built already as a racing car for TCR category. So I felt I can get much more out of fit,“ he added.

Václav Janík, the team boss, also looks forward to the cooperation with Galáš: „We watched Jáchym throughout the year and we were satisfied with his results. He was able to deal with the situations on the track and he fought for the best places. After our testing, we recognised he knows what he wants from the car and he can give the feedback to engineers.
He has passion about motorsport and he wants to constantly work and improve himself. I believe our cooperation will be benefical for everyone in 2021. We aim for the best possible results and we really look forward to the season, also thanks to Jáchym. The whole team wish him a lot of achievements with us.“
In last two TCR Eastern Europe seasons, Galáš raced with Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR of GT2 Motorsport team. He became the vice-champion in 2019 and he took overall third place this year. At the same time, he achieved the title of Junior champion in both seasons.
