Giacomo Ghermandi will make his debut season in TCR Eastern Europe this year. And he would like to achieve some podium result during the season.

Giacomo Ghermandi will be one of the rookies we will see during the 2021 TCR Eastern Europe season. The Italian driver will race with Cupra Leon TCR car of Lema Racing. And he doesn´t want to be a makeweight.

„We decided to enter TCR Eastern Europe to challenge ourselves and to gain experience in an international context. In addition, we will have the occasions to race at circuits from TCR Europe calendar. For sure, TCR Europe is my goal for the future. This season, I want to bring back home with as much experience as possible. I know I have a fast car, a great coach Andrea Fontana, and a team that will give me the best of them in every race. The goal is to be in the top positions and to aim for the podium in the second half of the season,“ says Ghermandi.

One of this year challenges will be an inexperience with many of circuits from our calendar for Ghermandi. He is looking forward the most to Red Bull Ring. But he is worried about Slovakiaring.

„I won a race of Formula Predator in Grobnik in 2018 season. But the other circuits will be an absolutely new adventure for me. I have loved Formula One since I was a kid, so I would say I´m looking forward the most to Red Bull Ring. It´s a circuit that is full of exciting challenges since the Schumacher days. I can´t wait to cross the ups and downs of this circuit, surrounded by such a beautiful landscape. I fear Slovakiaring. It is very intense a technical circuit. In addition, it will take place during the summer, so it will be more strenuous from a physical standpoint,“ added Ghermandi.
