Young Czech race driver Jiří Zbožínek debuted last year in TCR Eastern Europe with the Hyundai Janík Motorsport team and gained his first experience in the championship. Now, he is preparing for his second season in Hyundai Elantra TCR next to Adam Kout, who will be his team mate again.
“Thanks to the support of Hyundai Motorsport, I’m able to continue this season, and I’m very grateful for this opportunity. Of course, I’m also thankful to the team that I can continue with them,” says Jiří Zbožínek, whose best finish in 2024 was third place at the Slovakia Ring.
“This year, I want to score more points and be a regular top-five finisher. I would also be more than happy to win a race. Another goal is to achieve the best possible result for Hyundai Janík Motorsport in the team standings,” Zbožínek continues, speaking about his ambitions for this season.
He is no longer a newcomer to TCR Eastern Europe. He gained experience last season, but he knows very well that there is still a lot to learn. “I made progress last year and got better and better at handling the car, although there is still work to do. I need to improve my starts and overtaking.”
Jiří Zbožínek has been working on himself during the winter break. He is preparing on simulators and also works out, swims, and rides his bike to be as ready as possible for 2025. He knows all the circuits in this year’s calendar, and Slovakia Ring is the one he is most looking forward to. “It’s because of how the track was built, it has long and fast corners, which I like, as well as slow and technical sections, plus a few elevation changes, which make it interesting. And I had my best results there last year, so, so far, it’s my favorite track.”
