The showdown between championship contenders Adam Kout and Martin Kadlečík continued at the penultimate round of the TCR Eastern Europe series in Brno. Kadlečík claimed victory in a dramatic second race and now trails Kout by just eight points.

Vít Smejkal and Žarko Knego started from the front row, with Petr Čížek and Bartosz Groszek on row two. Behind them lined up Jiří Zbožínek and Adam Kout. Saturday’s winner Martin Kadlečík started seventh alongside Ivars Vallers.

Čížek made the best start and took the lead, Groszek slotted into second, Knego held third, Kout moved into fourth and Kadlečík followed closely in fifth. Zbožínek was sixth, with Smejkal and Vallers seventh and eighth.

On lap two, Kout overtook Knego for third and Kadlečík quickly followed to take fourth. With Čížek still leading, Kout began attacking Groszek, which allowed Čížek to stretch his advantage slightly.

But when Kout tried to pass Groszek, Kadlečík seized the opportunity to slip past his championship rival and take third. As Kadlečík battled Groszek, and Groszek fought with leader Čížek, the order quickly reshuffled. Kout found a gap, grabbed the lead, Kadlečík moved into second, Groszek dropped to third and Čížek fell to fourth, and eventually losing that spot to Zbožínek.

Kout now led with a small gap over Kadlečík, while behind them Groszek defended third against Zbožínek.

With less than two minutes remaining, Kadlečík attacked in the uphill chicane leading to last turns, but Kout held on. On the final lap, however, Kadlečík launched another move through the opening left right sequence and this time made it stick, taking the lead and securing his second win in a row with second Kout. Groszek finished third, Zbožínek fourth, and Čížek rounded out the top five. Knego crossed the line sixth, Smejkal seventh, and Vallers eighth.
